1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Siegfried Systems International, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company doing business as Myco-Monitor ("M-M," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit www.myco-monitor.com (the "Site"), purchase our products, subscribe to our emails, or contact us. It also describes how our hardware products handle data. By using the Site or purchasing our products, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us:
• Order information: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if provided), and the products you purchase.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Squarespace Payments and its underlying payment providers. Your payment card details are submitted directly to the payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card number.
• Email subscription: your email address, if you sign up for our marketing or newsletter list.
• Communications: information you include when you contact us, such as support requests, warranty claims, and any photographs or logs you choose to share for troubleshooting.
Information collected automatically: when you visit the Site, our hosting platform (Squarespace) automatically collects standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs, through cookies and similar technologies and through Squarespace's built-in analytics. We do not run additional third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.
3. Device Data: Our Products Are Local
Our hardware products (including the Spore, Hyphae, Sentinel, and Mycelium platform) are designed to operate entirely on your local network. Sensor readings, control actions, and configuration data are generated, stored, and processed on your own devices and network. Our products do not transmit sensor data, usage data, or telemetry to M-M, and we have no access to your grow data. We receive information from your devices only if you deliberately share it with us, for example by sending logs or screenshots as part of a support or warranty request.
4. How We Use Information
• To process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and to communicate with you about them;
• To provide customer support and honor warranty claims;
• To send marketing emails if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time);
• To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including understanding aggregate Site usage;
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and
• To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes. We share personal information only with:
• Service providers who process it on our behalf: Squarespace (website hosting, e-commerce, and payment processing), shipping carriers (to deliver your order), and our email marketing platform (Squarespace Email Campaigns) for subscribers;
• Professional advisors, such as accountants or attorneys, where necessary;
• Authorities or other parties where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of M-M, our customers, or others; and
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to previously collected information.
6. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies provided by Squarespace to operate core functionality (such as your shopping cart and checkout), to remember preferences, and to measure Site usage through Squarespace's built-in analytics. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings; if you block essential cookies, parts of the Site, including checkout, may not function.
7. Email Marketing
If you subscribe to our email list, we will send you product announcements, updates, and related content. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may also opt out at any time by contacting us at the address below. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional emails about your orders or warranty claims.
8. Data Retention
We retain order and transaction records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, honor the two-year product warranty, and meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements. We retain marketing email addresses until you unsubscribe or we delete the list. Support communications are retained as long as reasonably necessary to provide support and maintain service records.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, and we rely on Squarespace's platform security for information processed through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. We will honor such requests to the extent reasonably practicable and permitted by law; note that we may need to retain certain records, such as completed transactions, for warranty, tax, or legal purposes. Residents of certain states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws; to exercise any such rights, contact us using the information in Section 14.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals; however, we do not track visitors across third-party websites or serve targeted advertising.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will be posted on the Site with its effective date, and material changes will be indicated by updating that date. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
