Why Myco-Monitor?

Myco-Monitor started in a gourmet mushroom farm. After leaving a career in data engineering to grow mushrooms full-time, I found the cultivation market full of disconnected timers and devices never really built for the job — humidifiers holding one target instead of cycling the way nature does, fans spinning on wall timers with no way to tell if they're actually moving air, and no warning when something fails until the crop shows it.

Myco-Monitor is the system I wanted: a controller and sensors that manage CO₂, humidity, and temperature together, track what's happening in every tent, and let you know the moment something drifts.

How it works:

Spore

  • Standalone grow room sensor — tracks temperature, humidity, and CO₂ out of the box with a built-in dashboard.

  • One per tent, or a few in larger rooms for accurate sampling across the space.

Hyphae

  • Standalone controller for fans, humidifiers, heaters, and lighting — runs on built-in schedules, or switches to real-time control when paired with Spore.

  • Shares barometric pressure data with Spore so CO₂ readings stay accurate without manual calibration.

  • If sensors drop off the network, Hyphae falls back to scheduled operation automatically until the connection heals.

Mycelium

  • Open-source software that auto-discovers Spore and Hyphae on your network and runs the whole farm from one dashboard.

  • Logs every reading and relay event to a local SQLite database, and pulls in local weather so you can correlate outdoor conditions with flush quality over time.

  • Email alerts when readings drift or equipment stops responding.

  • Tracks production batches, inventory, sales, and customer records — all stored locally.
